Water under tile floors… haven’t found a leak

So I just bought a house on a concrete slab built in 1961. It has 2-3 layers of tile over tile starting with the cheap thin laminate ones that were popular in the 60s up to the top being a thick ceramic. I’m yanking all of these up and the further I get into the kitchen I realize it’s damp under the tiles, then straight up WET. it smells gross and I don’t know of any leaks anywhere. There is a crack in the foundation but not in the kitchen. I haven’t gotten it all up yet but it is more wet the closer I get to what may be a newer addition to the house, so maybe they did something wrong when adding on? This house is on well water and septic tank. Not sure if I’m leaving out any info. It smells like a dirty moldy smell but all of the walls and cabinets look fine down to the floor. It’s not something I smelled before digging up the tile. Any ideas what could be causing it? I don’t think the house has gutters. Could it just be coming up through the concrete? Is this going to be an expensive problem?
