Unclogging toilets, the perfect side hustle?
Hi guys, I 've been thinking about this one for a long time. I work a 9-to-5 and want to start a side hustle (with the goal to stop my day job once the side gig takes off). What am I thinking of? Unclogging toilets, not the big sewer pipes, no septic tanks. Just your run-of-the-mill problem with someone who stuffed too much sh*t in their toilet and it's overflowing and calls you to get it fixed.
-Minimal start-up cost: A car, a drain snake and a high-pressure washer. (Excluding a camera because that's a pricey one and isn't needed for a regular clogged toilet). A car is needed anyway, so disregarding that we're talking less than 1k (USD/EUR) in start-up cost.
-The business itself: People call you when they need you desperately. No hassle to come over and quote first, instead you do the job and get paid on the spot.
-Downside: It's messy and you need to be available on short notice.
However... I'm doubting if demand for this is high enough to scale and quit your day job. What are your thoughts?
