How do I locate my drain feild? How do I unclog it?

I have been having plumbing issues and got my septic pumped, they say the septic is full of water because the drain field is clogged. Well…. I don’t know where that is. It’s my great-grandmothers house and everyone who would have any idea where it is, have passed.

Last year, we had to find out septic tank. It was a disaster. We had to dig for days and days to find it and we still have patchy grass and ruts in the yard.

How do I locate my drain field without digging up my entire yard? we have a few acres of land. I was told drain field pipes can be three feet deep. Once I locate the drain field, is it possibly to repair it myself? Replace the clogged pipe? Do i need to dig a whole new drain field??? I am struggling with money so I would like to dig the entire thing myself and only contract out what I absolutely cannot do myself. Please help. It’s a very shitty situation.

UK Property Law questions

Please could a UK Property Lawyer/Solicitor advise on what I need to ask for. We’ve got a septic tank in a property that we are buying that is jointly used and maintained by 2 neighbours as per their own conveyance. The seller whom we are buying from has lost the conveyance that proves we have any right to use the septic tank, even though it’s on our land. Our solicitor says they aren’t experts in this area but at present it shows that we would have no right to use this septic tank, it’s plumbing, and therefore when it comes to replacing it (which is required immediately due to non-compliance) we wouldn’t be allowed to touch it. Our solicitors advise we need to find another solicitors who is knowledgeable in this area and can create a “deed of grant” to allow us to use it - but I cannot find any solicitors on Google in the UK that provide these services.
