Ghosted by a Plumber before finishing. Already thousands of dollars into the project.
I hired a plumber and general contractor for a bathroom addition onto the house.
While I’ve had some issues getting the plumber to show up on time in the past, I remained pretty patient since the general contractor he worked with was doing really good work for the price. Now that all the concrete/drywall/trim/tiling is done, and all that remains is installation on a shower and tub the plumber won’t get back into contact with me. What’s worse is the vanity he installed has a clear leak. A water heater valve drain he added is directly between the bathroom septic and septic tank outside, so anytime someone were to use the toilet in this new bathroom the entire space smells like waste for hours. He also damaged drywall, trim, and flooring during his other installs.
What sort of legal recourse do I have to get my money back? Some of it was paid via Venmo, am I clear legally to dispute it if he did such a poor job?
