Collateral costs from septic failure under warranty

About a year ago we had to have a special (drip-dispersal), very expensive septic system put in. This system includes a pump that pumps waste water into a drain field. This pump has a 1 year warranty, and the installation of the system also includes a service contract for two years. At our recent biannual inspection as part of the service contract, they discovered that the pump had thrown a circuit breaker at some point and had not been pumping. In addition, the pump's failure also cut power to the alarm that is supposed to alert us that the tanks are filling. Ultimately, they determined that the pump had an issue and replaced it under warranty, which is great. However, the initial failure of the pump caused our septic tank to fill, and now I have a $450 bill for getting it emptied.

It seems to me that the septic tank filled up because the pump failed, and since that was covered under warranty, is it possible that I can avoid having to pay the collateral "damage" of having the septic tank emptied? Perhaps adding to my case is that, and I need to get clarification here, the pump and the alarm that indicates if the pump has failed should NOT be on the same electrical circuit, in my opinion. If the alarm had been working I would have been able to catch that the pump had failed earlier and called them out for service. The agreements that I signed prior to having the system installed do not have anything specific that is helpful in this situation.

This all sounds great in my head, but I also recognize that warranty coverage cannot always cover collateral "damages" in all circumstances. That said, having to pay for anything here still seems off to me. Thanks for any insight!
