3" PVC through 4" cast iron?
Hi all. I have a house that has a slight issue with its plumbing leaving house going to septic tank. Just had it snaked and a camera put up. The house has all 3" pvc all the way to about 18" from foundation inside. At this point, it transitions to a 4" cast iron where it breaks through foundation. Once it breaks through foundation(18"), it turns to 4" clay for another 2', then turns to 4" pvc to septic tank. Between galvenized and clay there are some roots coming in. And the PVC has a peak and a valley which kills flow to tank. Tank was replaced last yr, but they messed up slope from previous PVC. I am looking to dig this entire thing up(13' in total). But was curious if there was anything against transitioning to 4" pvc outside the house rather then inside and sliding 3" pvc through the 4" cast iron through foundation as to not have to dig that out or drill new hole through foundation. I dont see how that would be any different then it changing to diameter 2' sooner inside the house. I would add a clean out outside the house which there currently isnt one. And would make sure I had proper slope to tank(which I currently have a roller coaster). This also assumes that 3"pvc will slide through 4" cast iron. What do you all think of this?
