Advice/ Experience request: should we re-plumb house?

First I understand these are sight unseen opinions and accept ‘best guess’ advice.

North Carolina house built 1975, well and septic tank. We purchased in 1998. Copper pipes, hard water and no water treatment system until 2019.

First pinhole leak 2016 in basement ceiling, just past main shutoff. 2019 leaks in basement and shower pipe. Husband had water treatment system installed (I was in hospital) 2022 Feb, May and July leaks in basement ceiling. Same general location- just past main shutoff and before water heater. Pipes are deteriorating from inside. Repair plumber strongly recommended replacing all pipes. 2nd opinion was ambivalent. Said it was a ‘risk tolerance’ question, which I totally understand. So…thoughts? Replace just section with leaks in basement? Replace all? Repair as needed? My Dad, who was not a plumber but was a facilities manager, died last year so I’m in need of help. TIA
